I HOPE GOD INTERVENES. BUT WHY WOULD GOD?

It's been a day of mixed messages from the war front today - a day that will be very important to historians fifty years on.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country would not pursue NATO membership in return for ceasefire. A positive development. It sent the stock markets soaring.
But then came the worrying development. Poland said it would supply MIG fighter jets to Ukraine in exchange for American ones for its own repertoire. Poland is a NATO country, and if it enters the war, Russia will almost definitely attack Poland which will force NATO to act to protect it.
America added to this negative news by squeezing Russia's economic capacities further by banning imports of Russian oil. America also dealt another blow to Russia and China's global reach by surprising everyone through extending an arm of friendship to Venezuela which Venezuela seems to have gladly accepted on the condition that America would return to Venezuela the country's oil refinery in the US.
On the war front things are getting murkier and very unpleasant. I heard at least two news channels discuss nuclear bombs available both with Russia and NATO. Just one medium sized bomb on a fighter plane that could carry multiple numbers, could fully take out a medium sized city.
Holy smokes! From day one of this conflict more than ten days back, I have been telling my wife that I really hope Trudeau does not do anything stupid to anger mad man Putin. Because we are the biggest city up here in the North, close to the Arctic, and not far from Russia on its eastern side across the Bering Sea. And today I somehow felt we qualify as that mid-sized city TV journalists spoke of.
Its never a happy feeling if one pays attention to the inflow of information and occupies his mind with analysis.
I hope GOD intervenes. But why would GOD when so many have already died in Ukraine? How are we more special than them?
In brokenness, humility, helplessness, and submission we probably must just accept what will come our way as destiny determines.
