Cultural nationalisms are not about culture, ethnic solidarity, or nation. They are expressions of the cravings for power and privilege among those that carry out the divisive agenda.

But if support for you turns into a liability for your powerful friend,
you will be dumped in no time and will become responsible for your reckless behaviour
at those times when you assumed that life's security was guaranteed by the support of the powerful.
Hence one should always count chiefly on personal moralities and behaviour.
These will stand you in good stead even in the most difficult days of life.

When systems of justice use retribution and revenge, and behave violently like criminals do,
they fail to be virtuous (i.e. good), and fail to be beacons of hope.
